Coldworm the Burrower

A cold-enchanted, magic-resistant Sand Maggot Queen at the end of Maggot's Lair Level 3. Always found guarding the treasure chest that contains the Staff of Kings, one of two items needed to progress Act II's plot. Coldworm neither moves nor uses direct attacks. Instead, she spawns new maggots which in turn spawn maggot eggs, flooding her room with enemies. If you do not wish to deal with her swarm of maggots, you are free to ignore her spawns, open the chest, grab the Staff of Kings, and portal home.
