Description

Demon Machine has the very rare property of firing piercing bolts and also making its projectiles explosive.

Key details

  • In that sense, it is the more potent crossbow counterpart of Kuko Shakaku. (Others include Hellcast and Raven Claw)
  • The area damage from its explosive bolts will be boosted by skills adding to fire damage including Enchant and Holy Fire, so this can be a quite potent weapon allowing an enchant sorceress solo most game content, or a great aid to a "Bowadin".

D2Emu Tips

  • In my experience, this xbow is highly underrated compared to Buriza, even though the Buriza is more famous, this xbow is imo the better elemental weapon, as the exploding Bolts have an AoE radius in addition to the piercing effect.
  • D2R 2.6 made this weapon into a viable p8 build for an Enchant sorceress thanks to Fire Mastery now applying not only to Enchant skill but to ranged fire damage you deal when already enchanted, essentially "double dipping".
  • As this is commonly used by Enchant sorceresses and Holy Fire "bowadins", this weapon is not recommended for upgrading, as it will only add a useless amount of physical damage and an even more useless requirement of strength.
  • Demon Machine works with Mirrored Blades to great effect for Warlocks.
  • The workhorse weapon of the Enchantress and an excellent example of a weapon that far surpasses the sum of its parts.
