Ribcracker breaks the norm for Staves in being a physical weapon instead of being chosen by casters.

Key details

  • It has greatly increased durability which isn't shown in its list of mods, but prevents it from breaking as quickly as other staves would.
  • Ribcracker is regarded as one of the best weapons for a shapeshifter druid, and carries great damage, IAS, FHR, and Crushing Blow.
  • It also makes up for giving up a shield by granting +100% defense.
  • A perfect upped ethereal Ribcracker is among the few weapons in the game where a Zod is preferred over a 15 IAS 40% ED jewel.

D2Emu Tips

  • Whereas "upping" a Bloodtree Stump from a War Club to an Ogre Maul increases its average base damage by about 40%, improving a Ribcracker from a Quarterstaff to a Stalagmite more than triples its average damage-per-hit.
  • The required level after upping to a Stalagmite will be level 56. not the level 49 that a Stalagmite usually has.
  • No Zod needed and you can socket Ribcracker with another Shael to easier Cap out your attack speed or if you want to get attack speed else where, you can socket a Lo rune to get 20% deadly strike.
  • This upped to Stalagmite or Oath Eth Feral Axe for my HC Fury druid.
  • Players report finding it off of Nightmare Duriel of all places.
  • Keep in mind that upgrading Ribracker to a Stalagmite will decrease its weapon speed.
