Schaefer's Hammer is a rare and moderately unique weapon for casting Static Field on striking (together with Stormlash and Crescent Moon Runeword).

Key details

  • Static Field belongs to the group of most potent spells in the game, and the chance to cut a significant percentage of monster health makes up many its power.
  • It is named after Max and Erich Schaefer, two brothers who were critical to the development of Diablo 1 and Diablo 2.

  • The Odds of a unique Legendary Mallet being Schaefer's Hammer: Qlvl 1-82: Cannot Drop Qlvl 83+: 1/6.
  • The combination of the Cleave skill attacking multiple enemies at once, with the high chance of proccing Static Field plus Defiler, gives you a nice aoe damage and clearing speed.
  • Schaefer's Hammer can't be ethereal because of it's indestructible mod.
