Diablo
Diablo, the Lord of Terror, escaped his damaged Soulstone by possessing the hero who defeated him beneath Tristram. From a gameplay standpoint, Full Lightning and Fire Resistance will help a lot against Diablo. With high Physical Damage Reduction and Fire/Lightning Absorption, Diablo will end up healing you over time instead of damaging you. Diablo may cast his special Bone Prison on you, your hirelings, and around your Town Portals to prevent you from escaping. The Red Lightning Hose deals half physical, half lightning damage. Full Lightning Resistance and Damage Reduction/a high Block Rate may allow you to survive this attack.

- Maximize Fire and Lightning Resistance; physical reduction or a strong block rate also helps against the Red Lightning Hose's physical component.
- Diablo can trap players, hirelings, and Town Portals with Bone Prison, so keep an escape plan.
- Do not rely on a point-blank safe zone: Reign of the Warlock's Lightning Hose still deals damage at melee range.
- Diablo's statue drop rates: 5% Madawc's Ire 90% Bul-Kathos' Nightmare 5% Worusk's End.
- Town Portal can be used as a Bone Prison Decoy target.
- For a Normal-difficulty summon Necromancer, strengthen and repeatedly recast a Clay Golem while Iron Maiden lets Diablo damage himself; low Summon Resist alone may not keep skeletons alive.
