  • It also delivers a especially high boost to Cold Resist and a smaller boost to Lightning Resist.
  • Stormshield also supplies 35% physical resistance, which ranks as the highest of such bonus from any single item in the game.
  • This property is especially effective on higher difficulties, where survival is more difficult.
  • And obviously on hardcore, where it is the top priority.

  • Any build using Spirit Monarch as a main shield should also consider having properly socketed (with Um, for example) Stormshield - in some situations dr 35% alone is much more decent than +2 all skills from Spirit.
  • While using Stormshield, it is worth bearing in mind that the effective Physical Resistance (expressed on items as "Damage Reduced by X%) of player characters is capped at 50%.
  • Big cold resist would compensate for a Cold Rupture charm very well, has second highest block rate of the unique shields and provides the highest damage reduction of any item.
  • Unique items that have the 'indestructible' property on their own (like Stormshield, Tyrael's Might or The Grandfather) can never be ethereal - with the exception of unique items that are always both indestructible and ethereal (like Ethereal Edge or Ghostflame).
