With D2R 2.4 Stygian Pike became the best base in price:performance ratio for making Pride and/or Infinity as most people prefer other bases because of past habits leaving this one alone.

Key details

  • Stygian Pike carries the same stats as Great Poleaxe (an otherwise beloved base) at only a fraction of its price while always getting 4 sockets from Larzuk which makes it the most readily available base for said runewords, with affordable superior ones on top.

D2Emu Tips

  • Since Patch 2.4 it is possible to make Infinity and Pride in spears.
  • Since 2.4 patch it became the best ethereal base for any 4 socket runeword.
