With its large enhanced defense bonus, Duriel's Shell carries a very high defense stat.

Key details

  • Coupled with the fact that a Great Hauberk only calls for a moderately high strength requirement makes this item a good candidate to upgrade with the Horadric Cube.
  • Duriel's Shell grants the wearer with many resistances along with its high defense, a good amount of hp and the strong 'Cannot Be Frozen' mod that altogether makes it a great armor for many characters.
  • If Ethereal, it's very strong on mercenaries because of the 'Cannot Be Frozen' mod, and that mercenaries don't suffer durability damage on equipped items.

  • Just as durable as Duriel himself, it is one of the only two items that are named after the two Lesser Evils found in the game.
  • Contrary to a common assumption, the "Cannot be frozen" effect does NOT work with Duriel's cold effect (or any other Holy Freeze enchanted monster, actually).
  • One of the great mercenary armours.
