Description
Heart of the Oak (usually abbreviated as HOTO) belongs to the group of most sought after runewords for its strong caster stats, including +3 to skills, FCR, max mana and all resist.
Key details
- The runeword is often crafted in a Flail because of the low stat requirements for the item type.
- Sorceresses may choose to craft it in a staff if they can find one with the relevant staffmods (while +3 to 3 skills hardly compensates +2 to all skills and other bonuses from an off-hand Spirit).
- For staves a cheaper alternative is Memory, and the ultimate one is Obsession.
D2Emu Tips
- The ONLY one handed weapons that work with HOTO are Flail, Knout and Scourge.
- Heart of the Oak does not work with War Hammer or Maul, despite it being marked as a Mace on the item tooltip.
- Avoid using an ethereal base for this runeword if your Paladin is still utilizing Charge for mobility.
- Considering the expensive runewords, HOTO is top priority.
