Silence was one of the most potent runewords when runewords were first introduced, but has since been overshadowed by most other options.

Key details

  • It was a favored choice for Bowazons, because of its reasonable damage and high resists, but most characters use other gear in the latest versions of Diablo.
  • Vex runes are usually better used elsewhere, including for Heart of the Oak or Exile.

D2Emu Tips

  • The best RW bases for this weapon are 6 socketed Hydra Bow and Crusader Bow, in order to take advantage of the -20 req from the Hel rune and high base damage of the RW base weapon.
  • To put into perspective how profoundly large the chance to blind is, a ranged attacker would need to be 79 levels lower than the defender for there to be any chance whatsoever of a successful attack not blinding the target.
  • Not a bad weapon but exists much better options.
  • Although most non dual claw trappers run Heart of the Oak: This is also a decent pick for trap assassin's, since traps are Attack Speed Based.
