Phase Blades are favored bases for runewords, including Grief, Passion and Call To Arms.

Key details

  • They have the fastest base weapon speed of all melee weapons — a trait shared with Greater Talons, Runic Talons, and Cutlass.
  • Phase Blades are the sole melee weapon that has no durability - the same property which missile weapons have.
  • It makes them perfect bases for runewords with annoying costly repair.
  • And just like missile weapons, Phase Blades cannot be ethereal, at least not natively.
  • It is possible to acquire such by upgrading ethereal rare and unique Dimensional Blades though.

D2Emu Tips

  • A 6 socketed Phase Blade filled with 6x Ist runes will give the weilder a whopping 180 mf, the highest possible on a singled handed… anything.
  • Also, this is the only other sword base (with Cutlass) to be at -30 base speed.
  • Phase Blade cannot be turned into an Iron Golem.
  • Dual-wielded Phase Blades by a Barbarian.
