Phase Blades are favored bases for runewords, including Grief, Passion, and Call To Arms.

Key details

  • They have the fastest base weapon speed of all melee weapons—a trait shared with Greater Talons, Runic Talons, and Cutlass.
  • Phase Blades are the sole melee weapons that have no durability—the same property that missile weapons have.
  • This makes them perfect bases for runewords with annoyingly costly repairs.
  • Just like missile weapons, Phase Blades cannot be ethereal, at least not natively.
  • It is possible to acquire one by upgrading an ethereal rare or unique Dimensional Blade, though.

D2Emu Tips

  • A 6-socketed Phase Blade filled with 6x Ist runes will give the wielder a whopping 180 Magic Find, the highest possible on a single-handed… anything.
  • Also, this is the only other sword base (with Cutlass) to be at -30 base speed.
  • Phase Blade cannot be turned into an Iron Golem.
  • Dual-wielded Phase Blades by a Barbarian.
